i run ad aware every day to check my computer for ads and gator keeps coming back, even after i delete it from my registry.

how does this junk keep coming back to my computer?

go to start>>settings>>control panel>>ad/remove programs.

remove all references to "gator"

thanks for the reply, but there is no listing for gator in add/remove programs.

i use regedit and regclean to erase it from my registry, but somehow it keep automaticaly coming back. any other ideas?

delete all cookies and temporary internet files/


are you sure you deleted the entire gator folder in the registry??

YEP!!! Gator's a BI%^&!!! So don't feel too bad Mazarino!!! I had the same problem.Another thing you can do is to hit the search file button from Start,and delete it that way and see if that will work.GOOD LUCK!!!!

Well, it looks like Gator is probably linked to a "freeware" program you installed, and it reloads Gator everytime you use the program, so you need to find which program it is...

thanks again for all the help. after doing a search on gator, it comes up with a couple of cookies in my cookie folder and this file:

thanks for the help everyone. i figured out how to get rid of gator on my computer. gator didn't show up for me on add/remove programs and when i search the computer for 'gator' it comes back with a couple of cookies.

what i had to do was delete the folder 'CMEII' in

c:\program files\common files\cmeii

and gator went away...
