Hello
I installed an Aopen AX 63 Pro motherboard Pentium III 450 MHz, 128 MB RAM. Voodo3 1000 16 MB AGP graphic card, Windows 98 first edition. When power in on, everything seems to have been working, but monitor remained black. I finally replaced the AGP graphic card with an ATI Expert Play PCI graphic card. I now have video. I can press the delete key at start up, and go into CMOS. After following instructions to Load Setup Defaults, saving setup, and then exiting Bios setup. After computer attempt to reboot, it gets as far as this message. Verifying Pool DMI Data. Boot from CD-ROM: Bootable CD not exist. I have tried to boot up using a Windows 98 start up disk, what will get the message none systems disk in drive A, remove and touch any key. I have go into bios and changed the boot sequences to just about every bootable combinations allowed. When it reaches the point that say Verifying DMI Pool Data, that is where it stops. Well that is not exactly accurate, because if I changed the boot sequences to A, C, SCSI, did not insert boot disk, that will be a message asking for it. When I insert the disk, I get the message invalid systems disk, replace the disk and then press any key. I know that all of the drives and cables are in working condition, because I have exchanged them with another computer and they worked fine. I also changed the memory. I also disconnected all of the ad own cries except the graphic card. I tried disconnecting of the drives except floppy drive, getting the same results invalid systems disk, replace the disk and then press any key. I tried booting with the Windows 98 installation disk, after disconnected all of the drives, and one into bios in changing the boot sequences to CD-ROM, C, A. The message will say, Verifying DMI pool data, boot from ATAPI CD-ROM 1. FD 1.44mb system - ( 0 0 )., but would go no further. That is with, or without the floppy drive connected
Thank you

Try making a new start up disk on a friend's computer, and try that one. Sounds like yours is corrupted. Write protect the disk before using it, rebooting with a disk that's not write protected will sometimes try to write onto it which renders it useless.

Once you get the start up disk to work, it might take some digging to get past the "Verifying Pool Data" problem...

Troubleshooting Windows Start Up Problems (http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q188/8/67.asp) might help.

Invalid System Disk after Setup ( http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q128/7/30.asp?LN=EN-US&SD=gn&FR=0)

Soon as I come up with all the answers...they change the questions!!

Hello
I would like to thank you for your concern. I am a 73-year-old man, with many major health problems, and with a limited knowledge of computers. This problem has whipped me so badly, that I had to take a little rest. I made for new boot disk from different computers, and write protected them all. I also downloaded the ultimate boot disk and write protected it also. I used them all and got the same results. Invalid systems disk replace the disk and then press any key. I contacted the manufacturers support service via Internet. I also called the retailers support service, but I still do not have an answer to this very strange problem. I know that there must be somebody out there with the solution.
Thank you
