lost winsvrc.exe file can not open anything on desktop how do i get it back?

Ha Ha Ha Ha. Cute handle. Anyway, you don't say whether you can open anything from the start menu.

Do you mean you can't open a program using an icon on the desktop, or you can't open a program at all, whether from the desktop icon or the start menu?

If you can still open programs from the start menu, then I would suggest running System File Checker. (I am assuming that it is a system file that you lost) If you can't open programs at all, then I am stumped. Short of reinstalling winders. But don't do that yet, until somebody else gives some advice.

If you can get to it, try Start/Programs/Accessories/SystemTools/SystemInfo/Tools/System File Checker. Follow the directions. You will have to have your original Windows CD.
