Well, I'm certainly not a follower of any traditional faith, but almost broke down and prayed after a bad overclocking experience today...P2 350 in a jumperless mobo...so I set the fsb to 103, yielding a measly 11mhz increase...boots and runs fine, so I try the next step: 112 fsb...getting better, a stable 392mhz...

Now, it's not the greatest board and the next step is 124 for the fsb...multilpier is locked so that's my only option, so I figure what the hell...then the system won't boot, won't post...I get nothing...the monitor doesn't even come on for a second...ok, no problem, I'll just use the bios reset jumper and set it back to normal...only problem is the jumper won't reset the bios even after leaving it there for a few minutes...

Ok, sometimes you have to reboot with the jumper at the reset position...won't reboot with the jumper in reset position...uh oh...probably shouldn't have tried this with SOMEBODY ELSE'S COMPUTER...THAT I HAD JUST GIVEN THEM AS A GIFT...

Anyway...let it sit for awhile...and magically, the bios reset...nothing burned out...won't be trying that again soon...at least not without some religious icon nearby...

hmmm well all i can say to that goonz is "hahaha"
But one thing to add, im pretty sure on most boards you could simply take your tool kit out and remove and reinstall the ROM chip and it would then reset, or posible remove the battery....so you were most likely never in any real danger hehe

*That is until you break the ROM trying to get it out lmao*

Just a thought.......

You try doing that with 133 Ram?

Should be NP to get that thing to run over 450 with the 133 ram in it...
I think it works out to something close to 465?

Anyways its probably the ram thats holding you back........
Almost any CPU can run 30% OC'd......that would be 33% but still it should run.............

Yeah, it's pc133 ram...I'm figuring the cache chips in the cartridge just couldn't handle the o.c. I've heard of that happening with the P2s...I was surprised to see a stable 392 though...if it were still mine, I'd play with it some more, but 350 is fast enough for what it will be doing...

Is it a P-II with the original SECC cartridge form factor, or the SECC-2?

On the -2's, they took off the metal plate so that the HSF mounts
directly onto the CPU slug. They can stand OC'ing a little better,
especially with a dual or triple fan heatsink.

It's the original secc and an early run of the chip as well...
