Just thought I would share this beutiful place with everyone. It is a few hours north Of where I live. We go often in the summer and a few times in the winter. http://www.explorenorth.com/articles/images/liardphoto2.html

Summer time it is a very busy place, tourists everywhere.(lots of bears too) On the May long weekend almost half of the people in the town I live at go there for one huge party. In the winter it is quite desserted, Its a quarter mile walk from the parking lot, and well in -30 weather, most just dont like to go there. But it is worth it.

All that ice makes my 'Bama bones shiver just to look at it! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
Does look very pretty, though, and I'd imagine the contrast of the hot springs in such a cold environment would be interesting.

Hi Donna,
Nice place.
You certainly no how to upset a man and his wife.
We often dream of coming over for our hol's.
one day when we're rich. 'oh well back to dreaming'.
The best we've got to offer.
2 minutes walk with the dogs 'The white cliffs of Dover (Battle of Britian)'
20 minutes Canterbury Cathedral 'Where St Thomas a Becket was murdered.'
15 minutes Sandwhich 'Earl of Sandwhich ( Who invented the Sandwich).'
60 minutes London.
kfh.

how is living in Canada, is it as police present and easy to be suspicious to law enforcement officers as it is in the states?
Do you feel free in terms of that you can do what you want - which is not the cause in much places in the US?
I´m asking, because i´m thinking of a Canada a place to live maybe in some years.
P.S.: How many months can you wear t-shirts?

wussowe: From what I see from down here, Canada is very beautiful, but please don't judge the US by a few major cities..or things you see in the media. A good many of us live in smaller towns..I haven't seen a policeman in years! I know we have a couple working in town, but "presence" is not applicable. As for whether we can do whatever we want..we do, but probably depends on what that is as to whether someone is gonna give you grief on it.
Donna: This brings back memories. Was a sulphur hot springs out of a tiny town in Utah I lived in for several years. We did like soaking in the wintertime..nice contrast between warm water and cold air. Can smell the sulphur now.

firstly: i´m not attacking any person for the country, whereever that might be, it comes from or lives.
you´re right, when you assume that i never visited the US myself, but i´ve heard quite a bit from people who did and who told me that, compared to Europe, this country is by far more opressive, than the old coninent is.
For example: i use to smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol, which is very common in austria, a friend of mine was arrested for one night in california, because of drinking alcohol on the beach. Others told me, that the first time you´re accused of a criminal act, you´re warned, the second time you need to go to prison (ex. smoking weed). In Europe, we have at the moment three countries, where you legally can smoke grass - the netherlands, belgium and switzerland - which reduced the drug-motivated criminal acts and the abuse of hard drugs like heroine quite a bit by the way. Last but not least, a significant number of the federal states still hold on to killing people for the sake of their victims - this is, in my opinion indisputable barbaric.
if you want we can gladly dispute over politics, if it is not banned from this forum (which i do not know).
P.S.:The photograph of the fountains is great indeed!

Lets just say if you wanna drink and smoke weed o the beach, you shoud stick to the european countries. If your a bad ass the cops are gonna pick you up, If you keep your nose clean you should be ok.
Politics on a BB is not a good idea. I dont think its banned here, but, still not a good Idea. The title of this topic would have to be changed to "Hell on earth" if it became a politicle debate.
Now go find some hotsprings and have a nice soak. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
