I have to agree. These forums are so useful. My son bought me my PC twelve months ago and I didn't have a clue about anything, but by reading these boards I now have the confidence to have a go of anything. Thank you all, you've helped me lots of times.
Well, that was my first post, but it won't be the last...

I don't see anyone else standin' here so you must be talkin' to me... http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/cool.gif
Sure, here's a joke:
You're stranded in the Sahara. You see an oasis, a buggy Windows installation disc and a well-coded Windows installation disc. Which do you head for?
The buggy disc. The other two are figments of your imagination.

just to add, ive been a regular computer user and started to experiment with it when batch file program creation (remember MS-DOS 6.01) and Norton DOS where you could color your text onthe dos prompt? hihihi!
but because ofthese forums, i now know my way around the motherboard...can actually open up a computer with confidence and fiddle with it...taking this and that out and putting it back again.
the best part is...everyone here respects the posts, even if the question may be so simple. and they reply in a most cordial way.

Ranking seems to work on the binary numbering system. You "earn" a higher rank and get another icon at 2, 4, 8, 16, etc.
