Congratulations to Canada for winning the Gold in Men and Women's Hockey. Suck down some of that fine Canadian brew in joy. It was a bit weird for me watch as to I'm an Avalanche fan and there's a 3 Avs playing for the Great White North I'm rooting against.

To CANADA the birthplace of hockey and the worlds best hockey teams!

Canada wins the gold in men's hockey.

The USA has a great team and I didn't really know if we could win but we fought hard in the corners and won. Maybe the hockey gods were smiling down upon us today. Hockey is what defines us as a nation and we live and die with the fortunes of our national team. This is our World Series, our World Cup, our Super Bowl all in one. We lost in Nagano and tears were shed and it hurt. Now we shed tears for different reasons. Today we celebrate in earnest as the country unites and all is right in the world on this quiet Canadian Sunday afternoon.

Hats off to Salt Lake City for the job they've done. It's been said that no other nation could've held the games in these percarious times and it's true.

Now if you'll excuse me I have many more beers to drink...eh
