http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif Q189526, and Q190303 did help a little in understanding what the problem is but some of the things didn't match like settings tab to change the dual channel ide, my computer has under the device manager, by connection, not by device type
Primary Bus Master IDE controller(dual fifo)
Secondary Bus Master IDE controller(dual fifo)
Via Bus Master PCI IDE Controller(Ultra DMA)
thedisk drive c Uses the Primary Bus Master IDE controller
but there are no setting to change... just a general, driver, and resources tab for all of them . oh and if i plug the wires(ribbon)back into either drive d or e, then the whole system freezes up and the slide wont open or close... somehow... the computer works just fine with out the drives d and e, and the computer isn't recognizing either. those articles were nice but if i plug the wires back in, it's the same thing all over again... no computer. it hasn't rebooted spontaneously at all... not one single bit. kinda nice http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif all help is appreciated greatly http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
