New CDRW

We just recently purchased a Cicero (Sony) cdrw 8x4x32. I have used it to burn a couple new cd's but now nothing. Whether I have a cd in or not is tells me Device not ready. Last night we tried re-installing Windows and then the cdrw worked but now nothing.

Help this is getting frusterating

Your problem lies with either faulty cabling. (check and see that everything is plugged in correctly and firmly) or in all likelyhood, you have just gotten a faulty drive. in which case the best thing for you to do is to return it and either get a refund or replacement. I have had similar problems with ordinary CD-ROM drives and the end result was that the drive had to be replaced.

Another possibility is that a driver update might help...
