i just bought a 10x cd-writer before that i had a 4x and it would take me 40 - 50 minutes to record a music cd in jukebox now that i have a 10x its still taking me that long, my sister has an 8x and it takes her 10-15 minutes in jukebox, could it be the way i have it hooked up i have the controller going from the writer to my second hard drive which is a 6.4 or is it some configurations i have to change, please help

Woah, that's slow. My 2X drive doesn't take 50 minutes to write an audio CD. Sounds like a config problem if a new drive is doing it too.
Describe the system in more detail including how the drives are attached to the system.

Try the CD-RW on an IDE channel by itself for starters.
Also, if possible, try some different software. Also make sure there aren't any setup problems associated with your disk controllers in Device Manager.

Also, very important, the software you are using must recognize and support your faster drive. I have used cdwin to record stuff, I have 8x and 4x burners, and it goes equal speed with both because version I am using doesn't support anything over 4x. However, adaptect runs like a dream, showing the speed difference. Nero seemed to run at true speed, but for some reasons it kept making coasters. I can't afford to make anymore of them... http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/redface.gif)

Beside those suggestions above......
I suggest you update the firmware version (if it possible)
U can go to your CDRW manufacturer web site and d/l appropriate file

reddogg thank you so much for the info, you were correct i had not went into real jukebox and set up my new drive even with the 4 i hadnot set it up so it probably would of been faster then too, because in jukebox its automatically set a 2x so i was recording at that speed with the 4 and the 10, thank you so much it takes me about 10 mintues now.....
