Extended partitoin

If I make the primary partition and the extended partition (The extended partion will not span the whole disk space) can I at a later time increaset the extended partition without disturbing the other partitions in that drive.

Check into a program called Partition Magic. I don't know much about it, but it seems to be highly regarded as a partition tinkering solution. Maybe some of the other folks on here will be able to tell you more about it.
