Maxtor hard drive failure

Recently three Maxtor hard drive failed. All three were 20Gb @ 7200. All obvious trouble shooting skills were applied. We use GHOST to lay images on computers. I was hoping some of you may be familiar with the problem and educated on chipsets or firmware and shed some light on the problem.

I'm wondering if it's a controller failure instead of the actual hard drive. It's unusual for 3 drives to fail in a row...can't think of anything else at the moment.
