Hello everyone,
is repeated formatting harmfull to the hard disk ?
every other day for example.

A few times here and there might not cause problems, but if the drive has to be formatted every other day for some reason, it probably already has been damaged, unless you're having software related trouble, and that's the reason for the repeated formats.
Formatting repeatedly I wouldn't think would really be good for it...

i wanted to know my limits ; as u wrote it actually is because of software
malfunction and it feels clean when u format..., i'm not into obsessive compulsive behaviour yet (happily); well thanks a lot,i'll be more freindly with it

To clarify what I posted, I don't think the format procedure itself would be very harmful, if at all. The problem would be related to the wear and tear it puts the drive through, since formatting kind of works a drive over pretty good...and mechanical wear and tear is the greatest enemy of hard drives.
