My problem is I have not got a working cd drive right now. I was installing new print software when the computer hung I had to reboot when I did I started to have this happen "ATAPI incompatible" it then attempts to boot from the HD fails then floppy fails then tells me to insert a system disk and pree any key,I press a key without a disk in the drive it then boots from the HD just fine goes through its process of loading except no cd rom. I have tried reinstalling the cd software without success I am just about fed up with the problem. Can anyone out there help me with this? http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif

In the BIOS, under "Standard CMOS Setup", set the IDE channels to "AUTO" for the Primary Slave and Secondary Master and Slave devices. It's better to have the hard drive detected in the BIOS, so if the parameters are entered in here, dont change them (under Primary Master). Then reboot. Hope this helps.
