It seems that this machine is having fun giving me problems.
My Floppy Drive now seems to only work sometimes. I get errors like this when I insert a disc:
The disk in drive A is not formatted. Do you want to format it now. Another one is:
You cannot do a quick format because the disk is not formatted, its capacity does not match, or there is no disk in drive. (yeah right, just once I would like the little man in there sending these messages to peak his head out so I can holler and hit him....at least I would feel better). I can't save any of my backups, and it won't read any of the disc...except sometime.
To check into it a little further I put a boot disk in and it takes me right to the A: prompt. I'm confused.....any suggestions ?

Buy a floppy cleaning kit and try it. Might be dirty heads.

It could also be bad disks, those are the type of messages you get when the disks are bad to begin with.

Thanks Paleo Pete,
I took your advise and bought a new 3.5" Floppy drive. I fiqured since you could buy them for under $20.00 bucks I would go that route instead of even bothering with a cleaning kit. Everything works fine again....or at least for the time being http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
Anyways I just wanted you to know it worked, and wanted to post back an update. So if any others read this, they could see the errors that I was having and what actually worked to remedy the problem.

Thanks for the update, I figured a new drive would cure it...but still wonder if the cleaning kit would do the trick, or if the old one was out of alignment.

Glad you got it working.
