CDs have no icons and don't autostart

OK,
I have a ATAPI 40x CD-Rom and a Sony CD-RW CRX140E. The setting for both these are Disconnect ON, Auto-incert Notification ON, DMA ON.
The problem is that when i put CDs in the icon does not come up and the autostart doesn't work.
It worked alright until i installed CloneCD 2.8.4.3. Before that i had 2.7.3.x and my burner and CD-Rom worked fine. When i first tried to use CloneCD 2.8.4.3 it did something to my computer and made this promblem.

Please help.

Did some experimenting and useing a Virtual drive i have the same problem, so i'm guessing its not anything to do with the actual drives.

The cd is there but its icon does not appear and it doesn't autorun which screws things up.

Not sure why the Disconnect box would be checked -- it only applies to SCSI devices. Try un-checking it. Otherwise it could be a problem with the IDE drivers. The CloneCD install may have over-written some files with older versions.
