Thread: IExplore.Exe.

  1. #1

    Question IExplore.Exe.

For some reason that I do not understand I have lost my IExplore.Exe. that
supports URL:Hyper Text Transfer Protocol. I had it before I ran
Maintenance Wizard ( a program which checks my computer system for bugs).
I can log onto some sites using my Internet Explorer 5.5,but I cannot bring up such sites as: IWON, the "home page" of Excite, etc.
How do I get IExplore.Exe. back ? I have checked the Microsoft Products
and help pages with negative results.

IEXPLORE.EXE is Internet Explorer. What makes you think the file is missing? If IE works, the file is there... I don't understand, sorry.

ixl is right, iexplore.exe is Internet Explorer. If it's missing, Internet Explorer won't work at all. It could be corrupt though...

Go to Start\Settings\Control Panel\Add/Remove Programs and scroll down the list to Microsoft Internet Explorer and Internet Tools. Click the Add/Remove button at bottom and run the repair feature. See if that fixes it.

This might be related to a setting in Internet Options, but I'm not sure what it might be. Try the repair tool, and see how it works.
