This is the third time you have posted on this...you haven't said that if any of the previous suggestion have helped, what you have tried, and what exactly the problem is...you can't gain access to the settings through usin the control panel icon, right?

Have you tried to access the settings whe it is running?

Have you gone to Apple and tried the demo to see if it works at all?

here and here are a couple of links on how to uninstall and make sure it is completely uninstalled....and after you make sure it is gone completely (do a search of your hard drive for any remaing quicktime folders. Make sure you reboot after the uninstall, before you try to reinstall it........

i get it on my control panel but with the same problem.qt is very important for some of cd applications that I cannot run.such as encyclopedies etc.....they work only with qt4 and if ido nt reach qt settings such as gdi(safe mode),wave out, nothing.i am very upset.Iam running windows98ram64 graphic fdx3.ones it worked.I updated and then I NEVER COULD after several downloads erasing what left after searching if
on the hard disc remain something of qt like I was told trying to do all instruction.nothing. maybe you have an idea.qt4.0 does not exist more for windows maybe it is the problem.I need the standalone what I DOWNLOADED tens times(in and uninstall entirely)iam very upset.in anyway thank you
if you have an idea I shall be very greatfull.titi

If you need the old version of Quicktime (IE: version 4)
    Go here: http://www.oldversion.com/quicktime.shtml

There is one other option you can try if all else fails....wipe out and reinstall everything. Start out with a clean install of Winodws 98, install updated drivers, as needed, then install the correct version of QT (either from the link GH posted or off one of the CDs that requires it...) and then install everything else skipping any further installs of QT and never updating it.......not fun, not easy but it should work.

Also have you tried to access the settings by going directly into the Quicktime folder and running the player directly, skipping the Control Panel applet?

If you go that route, when the player is up, click on edit and then Preferences....
