    XP service pack1 problem

    i am having windows XP professional as the operating system.i installed windows XP service 1 onto it in order to fix any bugs.after installation the system restarted as it normally does.but after it started into GUI mode & showed the welcome screen,it gave an error message and didn't allow me to login.it gave the options of either shutting down,hibernating or restarting only.i don't know how to l can now login to use the system.the error message is as folows,
    on the title bar it shown as WINDOWS PRODUCT ACTIVATION and the message was
    "A problem is preventing Windows from accurately checking the license for this computer.
    Error Code:0x80004005"
    please help me troubleshoot the problem.

    If you can boot into Safe mode, then back up all critical files, and insert the Restore CD. This assumes your CD-ROM drive will run in Safe mode.
