    PC hardlocks

My PC hardlocks when I run memory intensive programs(like games). When it hardlocks i lose all keyboard control, and have to turn the power off on the back. Also the speakers start making strange clicking and beeping sounds. Here are my specs
AMD Athalon XP proc.... 2.0 ghz
Ecs Elite group MB, model k7s5a
    Chipset sis735

    ram: Seitec pc 133 256mb
    and
    generic pc 133 128mb ram

HD: 2 quantum Fireball 40.0 gigs

    Sound Card: Sound blaster live

    Video Card: GeForce 2 mx

Other notes. This same set up with my old board and proc worked fine all of the time. Also, If i have the 256 and the 128 of ram in at the same time, this problem happens everytime i play a game. If i just have the 256 in it only happens sometimes. and if i have just the 128 in it has yet to happen..... though i do not just have the 128 in much as its speed is too slow of some games.

Sounds like the 256 stick is a piece of junk....if it always locks up with it and the 128 in and often with just it in then the problem is that stick. You could try going into the BIOS and setting the memory settings to CAS3 or if you have the choice for settings like optimal. performance, etc try one of the lower settings.

Ok.....that happens too sometimes. I had a 128 stick that wouldn't even let my machine boot, stuck it in another machine and it runs like a champ. The basic problem is the 256 stick is not compatable with this board.

    Lightbulb RAM 256/128

Are the 256 and 128 RAM ECC or non-ECC? Are they both same or different as ECC or non-ECC. Also, try with your startup program in msconfig is cleared to required components. What windows are you running? Same windows with the other system that works?
