Have you done a show config to verify your settings?
Did you setup PAT or NAT?
Please help
I have a cisco pix 501 firewall.
I want to be able to connect the firewall to a broadband router.
I have managed to connect to the PDM interface of the firewall.
The ip settings for the incoming interface I have left as default.
DHCP has been enabled on the incoming interface.
I have changed the outgoing interface to match the ip address of the broadband network address.
I have set a static route to the router ip address.
I have set my machine to obtain its ip address from a DHCP server.
According to cisco instruction book (Worse instrcution manual I have ever seen) this is all I need to do
The firewall and router leds show that they are working correctly.
I can ping from the firewall to my machine but I am unable to ping outside the firewall. I am unable to ping the router ip address.
I have been spending all my spare time trying to get this working without any luck. What am I doing wrong?
Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks in advance
Jason

Try getting a broadband router with a firewall installed in it like a linksys. You can return or sell on ebay the firewall.
