nothing ?

Ok I'm running Windows XP, What I am trying to do I know it can be done on *nix but I need it done on Windows and I have no Idea.
I got 2 Nic cards from 2 different ISPs. I don't have any kind of router or switch. What I need is to be able to choose what connections go to each IP.
Example:
NIC #1 IP: 10.5.0.1 its a LAN but does connect to the Internet.
NiC #2 168.168.205.205 Normal IP
NIC#1 Used for MSN AIM ICQ or what ever (ones that doen't use BW)
NIC#2 IE MiRC FTP ect. ( ones that need the actual BW)
Any ideas ?

Sorry, I am not even sure I understand the question. If you hang on, you may get a response from one or more of the network experts, like GhostHacker...

I thought I was reasonably network savvy but Im not sure even I understand.
Are you trying to connect to both ISP's simultaneously but specify which computer connects to which ISP?![]()

Can you provide more detail about what you are trying to do.

its only 1 computer.. it has 2 NiC cards...
NiC #1 Very slow Speed ISP ..(cheap ISP service)
NiC #2 Fast connection but blocks ports ( different ISP than #1 )
So I have this problem I need to have several open ports since I use a lot of programs that need internet access example: On most my FTPs I log on many times a day I need IDENT running. but NiC#2 doesn't let me use IDENT since its blocked but NiC#1 has no problem with it..thing is I need a fast connection for others stuff so I have to disable my NIC#2
to use IDENT but I'm stuck with a slow connection. all I want to do is sort of route or bind sockets to the NiC card I want... cause when I enable both it simply chooses which ever it wants and it causes me a lot of conflict got to be watchin all the time which IP it took for X program..

I know some routers can be set up with the sort of things your describing, but evens that outside my experience so I havent the vaguest clue how you might be able to go about it with XP.
Definitely sounds like something for Ghost_Hacker to try and answer.

well I sure hope he gets a chance to read this. he seems like he could at least tell me no you can't. And if that happens then it whould be time to move to a programmers forum search for people looking for new ideas to code.since to my knowledge there isn't any program that does that yet. but I know it is possible since some programs have the option of binding sockets to certain IP.
Hi,
I think I know the feature u are talking about. Unix & Linux both enable the user to route data in a specific way as required.
I am reasonably sure you cant do what you want to do with any versions of windows other that the server versions. Server versions do enable the setup of routing tables.
I have a niggling feeling that I have come accross 3rd party apps that enable you to route (no idea where or what they were called but its maybe something to search for.
Good luck.
yes I'm pretty sure the feaure isn't in Windows XP or 2000 but a 3rd Party app has to exsist somewhere I've been looking around with no luck.
can't belive I'm first person that has come accross with this problem on Windows Platform. :''(![]()

if i understand you correctly you're trying to get IDENT bound to NIC#2 right?
in that case i would suggest opening the advanced properties of TCP/IP for NIC#2 and in TCP filtering add the IDENT protocol; or at least enable Port 113 ( i think that's the right one ).
I've successfully set certain ports/protocols for clients this way-but usually it's easier to do this from a router; as most times you'd be setting up for more than one user.
I'm mostly a hardware admin, i do networking as another " hat "; so i may be off on what you are trying to do here.
