    Unhappy Password access problems

I am using Window 98SE and IE6, lately I am having problems connecting to some sites requiring password. For examples, trying to access hotmail, soon as the password is keyed in and press the enter button, it will display " The Page cannot be displayed" and "The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings......" Same thing happens when I try to access my bank and also paypal. No problem with email and ebay access though.
I have recently defraged my drive, wonder that cound be the problem.
Using another computer in the same house with the same internet connection do not have the same problem.

I shall reload IE6 tonight. If it doesn't work, reload Win98SE. Strange thing is I can access the bank's main page, but soon as I click the login selection, it gives me the same " The page cannot be displayed..." message.

I believe IE6 has a repair feature and you might want to try that before going to a complete reinstall. Also, check to make sure you don't have security settings too high. Apparently IE6 can be a little overly aggressive on some security while falling down on other areas of security.

I have reinstalled IE6 and the problems went away. There must be a file corruption somewhere or the defrag could have caused it. So far everything seems to be back to normal. Thanks for the advise Budfred .
