    FSB on MB!

    hi guys! how do you determine what your MB's FSB is, aside fmo looking at the manual?
    Analyze this:

    Keyboard error or no keyboard present.
    Press F1 to continue or F10 to enter Setup.

    System Specs:

    Athlon 2000+ Thoroughbred cooled by a Thermaltake VOlcano 7+ on an ASUS A7V8X-MX; Runs on 768MB (266) DDR RAM; Display courtesy of an Sapphire Radeon 9550 256MB DDR shown on a 17 inch CTX Monitor. Sound provided by SB Live 5.1 EAX Sound projected through a black Altec Lansing ATP 2.1 speaker system.

    Look for specs on the mobo's website.....

    Or just ask us.

    Give us a processor and we'll likely be able to tell you what the FSB speed is. Of course, there's also a few programs that will be able to tell you with a reasonable amount of certainty (they sometimes get it wrong). SiSoft Sandra is a good one, and usually correct since it's a pro-level app.

    You can also d/l AIDA32, and determine your FSB speed plus a whole lot more about your system.

    Just keep in mind that the 266MHz FSB is technically only 133MHz because of the double-pumped bus architecture. So it will probably say 133MHz in the BIOS.

    This confuses a lot of people which is why the internet is flooded with ill-informed newbies complaining that their FSB is half of what it's supposed to be!
