    rsync protocol

    Hello all-

A quick question about rsync: My school's firewall blocks rsync because of security risks. Is there a such thing as ssync or some other alternative to rsync? Gentoo linux depends on rsync, and I can't use it from the dorm without it. Thanks.

rsync can be run very securely over ssh. I set it up once using Linux RedHat, so it's not too difficult Try Googling for "rsync ssh", there's several good pages as I remember.
