    CMOS battery replacement

I need to replace the CMOS battery since it is exhausted. Where do I find/locate it in the computer? Thanks. Lucca.

What makes you think the battery is exhausted?

What it looks like depends on how old the system is, but it is probably a typical silver coloured circle looks like a coin. If you cant find it just by looking then you should refer to the motherboard manual to locate it.

Well, the battery is exhausted because the computer clock is not running any more- and I have already enquired about this in a previous post. Actually, I do not own a motherboard manual, I have opened the case where the computer is contained but I was not able to spot the silver-coin-like container of the CMOS battery. Thanks. Lucca.

    How old is the system?

The CMOS battery should be easy to spot. Looks like a quarter almost, typically with the numbers "CR2032" on it.

Look at the second post of this thread. With most motherboards, that's what you're looking for.
