When CMOS is cleared, all of the default settings are configured, and there should be no overclocking of any component.
Unless someone O/C'd something without your knowledge.
What make you think that something is O/C'd?
My computer has been working badly lately.(Freezing) I went to the motherboard site and got a copy of the manual, there I got a wing of what to do (Clearing the CMOS) by changing the position of certain connector and back again to where it was. I bet the geeks will know that what I did. The computer worked well, I attached all the cards. but suddenly wouldn't work again. After a period of 1 week, it stopped working However, I according to the site the computer was overclocking.
I tried everything possible but would only show the booting stage slightly and image degraded.
How do I stop overclocking.
I've got the following cards.
1 modem
2. Tv card
3. ethernet card
CPU 1.3 gig, motherboard ( http://www.aopen.com/products/mb/mx36le-u.htm)

Help please.

Modem, TV Card Network card...
OK sounds like one of them is causing a conflict or overriding something else. Is the TV Card also the primary video card, or an additional video output? In other words does it also have a separate video card?
Pull the other two cards, check and see if it tries to boot. If it gets video, add one card etc. The point at which it stops again tells you which card is causing problems. If it has a separate video card or onboard, pull the TV Card too, and add one at a time to see what causes it to stop.
Having cleared CMOS (BIOS) you might have a setting somewhere that needs to be changed to eliminate an IRQ conflict, disable onboard video, possibly something else. We can't tell without knowing a lot more about the machine and the problems it's having.
Why do I drive way out here to see the wildlife when all the animals live in town?
