What is the best cd ripper program?

Hi, I have some cd's that are scratch so I want to make it into mp3s and store it in my HD. Problem is, I don't know which program is the best for the job . It also needs to be free. I've tried CD Xtractor but it always give the "0x0004" error.
    Thanx
