    Unhappy Firefox and Spyware blaster

Need quick reply if possible as owner is picking compute rback up in a couple of hours

    Spyware Blaster (3.2)
Firefox 0.8 installed (have suggested upgrading but wants to wait until bugs seem to be cleared in ver 1.0)

When Spyware Blaster (3.2) is run it shows that protection for Firefox IS enabled BUT there are 209 items NOT selected. (all tracking cookies). I have manually selcted them all but when SB is started again they are once again DE-selected. I have tried selecting them 6 times to no avail. The latest updates are installed. (3183 items)

All other scans show clear and clean (AdAware etc.)

Anyone any ideas as to what is causing this?

No idea, Ernie, but lesson I have learned and SEEMS to work, is "when in doubt...reinstall the bugger." Reinstalling SWB should take all of 10 minutes. If it still happens, then, ATLEAST, you know you are not getting tripped by an install that has gone loco on you from a fragged download etc....

Actor Kevin Kline was asked once (Actor's Studio) how he can play his comedy rolls with such repeated and consistent passion. His response:

"I don't know, I just can't imagine not being happy."

If I remember correctly, when I first started using FF (version 0.8 or so) and SpywareBlaster (don't remember V#), FF protection would not enable in SpywareBlaster, therefore there would be a number of unprotected items specific to FF. This was a bug that was subsequently fixed. Using the latest versions of both, all is well now. Could this be your problem?

I too hesitated moving up to the newest release of FF (I stayed with 0.9x) but now have done so and what I see is really very stable and functional. I would heartily recommend the upgrade to .10.

Glad I could be of help to someone. I've certainly received plenty here. Good to be able to give back some.
