    Old PC, New CPU

I'm giving my old pc to someone i know, but im going to install XP onto it. But im not sure what CPU the motherboard can hold. Are there any sites that will check for me instead of looking over many sites myself?

Welcome to the PC Guide forums!

Actually if you post your motherboard specs here, you probably will get an answer.

    See these:
    Windows XP Upgrade Advisor
    Windows XP Professional Upgrade Center
    before you install WinXP.

    Official Minimum recommended:
    300 MHz CPU
    128 MB RAM
But others say better is needed.
