    Just got a video card

Just last night I went and picked one of these up:

Is this any good or could I have gotten something better for that price? I mainly got it for WoW, it runs really well

And what are the diff. between these 2?

That's actually not a bad price for that vid card coming from a retail store. I'm impressed. I go into the brick-and-mortar stores a lot, and rarely do I find prices on vid cards that even come close to online prices.

Nah... I doubt you could have gotten a better AGP vid card for that price. Maybe a 9600 Pro/XT for a little bit more, like in the $90-100 range. Might be worth a look if you're able to purchase from an online store like Newegg. But if you're happy with what you've got...

The only difference between those two is the manufacturer. ATI made one, and Norwood Micro made the other one. Can't say as I've ever heard of Norwood Micro, though. Odd.

Hehe, not really any way to avoid that. MMO's with tons of on-screen chars get bogged down on any system. The power of your vid card can increase that from 20 people to 40 people, but rest assured that eventually your system will get bogged down. In the Bazaar in EQ, I've never seen a system that can handle a full crowd.

I see, so yeah it's pretty nice, you're replying to my other topic about the RAM, will it help with an MMO?

But when I take out the car it sys ATI on it, maybe I shoudl go return it for the 70 dollar one if it's 3rd party company

I did see one difference in the Norwood card. The core is factory overclocked from 250MHz to 400MHz. Which is a pretty hefty overclock. That was the difference in price, plus the ATI was on sale. Which makes sense since the "built by ATI cards" are usually more expensive.

Since the Norwood card is overclocked you will get better performance out of it. And since it was overclocked by the factory you wont have to worry about the warranty be voided as opposed to OC'ing it yourself.

I'm with Saph, if your happy leave well enough alone.
