    Is there an alternative to Belac Advisor?

    Does anybody know of a free program that will provide me with a system snapshot: RAM, PCI cards, mobo, drives, software, etc.? I have been using Belarc Advisor but it has returned some errors and I'm wondering if there is another one available.

    Look around for an older freeware utility called Aida32. The main site has been closed and development on it has stopped, but it is still around on most of the freeware sites.

    Ive just spent some time playing around with that little program and the amount of system, software and hardware info it deplays is alot.

    There's also one called SiSoftware Sandra. I don't remember where I got it, but I'm sure you can find it if you do a Google search.

    Wow, that's gone on my external USB HDD along with my backups.
    Runs from there just fine using Windows.
    No way to run it using DOS [from the EBCD] I suppose.

    Makes me wonder if it's possible to install Windows [using Windows to run the Windows install files from a HDD partition/folder] onto a CD-RW disk and add programs like this to that CD, then boot that CD and run them from that.

    Crazy?
