    ODT file

I have a file that is of type ODT.
What is the software I should use to open it?
Is there any freeware software I can probably use?

It appears to be an OpenDocumentText document.

It can be opened with OpenOffice. There are several other word processor/office apps that will soon use that format, if not already doing so.
