    Buying more RAM

    Hi

I hope someone can help me. I want to buy more RAM as I only have 512mb. My motherboard is an Asrock K7S8X and it has 3 slots for memory do I just go and buy some and put it in one of tghe slots - is it as easy as that.

Yes it is that easy if the RAM you buy is compatible. I suggest using the configurator tools at www.crucial.com to determine what RAM matches your current stuff.
Kingston's site also has a similar tool, both sites sell good quality RAM.

What I would suggest doing is going to the sites PrntRhd listed, and Corsair's site, run the ram configuration tool on each sites, write down the model numbers of the ram that is compatible with your system, then go to Newegg.com and look up the same sticks of ram using the model numbers and find the best deal. Newegg almost always has the same ram for much less than getting it direct from the manufacturer.

Hi and thanks for all the information. I am in UK and I am sure I can get what I need here. I went to the configuration tool site and I did everything it said but it seems as if my motherboard is ancient and it is only 3 years old so the information was not a great deal of help. It told me I had 3 slots and one had 512mb of ram. What do I do now?
