Trying to connect DELL Latitude D410 via NETGEAR WRT54G. MAC filter on. No WPA/WEP.

Husband's connection is fine (MacBook).

1. Trial Attempt #1 on My Dell
- Connects (with Limited or no connectivity) - no internet
- Reboot did nothing
- during Repair Wireless Connection the "renewing your IP address" takes a long time and then we get this message:

Windows could not finish repairing the problem because the following action could not be completed: Renewing your IP address.

For assistance contact the person who manages your network.

2. Tried again with MAC filtering off
- tried to Repair
- it went through its steps until "Renewing your IP Address"
- the process halted at this point...never "renewed"

3. Turned off Windows Firewall
- tried to Repair
- stuck on Renewing IP address again

Any ideas???
