did the drive come with a utilities/driver disk?
If so, try the formatting utility from there...
My thumbdrive crashed the other day, and I haven't been able to get it going again.
I guess I pulled it out of a computer too early, but I was able to use recovery software to pull the data off of it... so i know it sort of works.
Now, when I try to access it in windows it just says "insert disk", in properties it shows up as a RAW file system. When I try to format in windows it just says "unable to complete format"
The drives' a SanDisk 1gb usb drive, only 3 months old...any ideas?

You could try the HP utility since it does work on many non-HP drives.

Help to start using BiNG. Some stuff about Boot CDs & Data Recovery Basics & Back-up using Knoppix.
hmm still didn't work, tried KillDisk as well, no luck, all failures. I RMA'd it through SanDisk, we'll see what they say... it's only a month old so maybe it's under some sort of warranty.
