Disable standby mode, restart the system, re-enable standby, and see if that helps.
Hi.
I have an HP with a 2800+ AMD athlon processor and a hp pavilion f1530 monitor. It is 4 years old.
When I place the cpu in the power saving mode, standby, a blue light flashes on and off. To take it out of standby, I move the mouse, and the cpu is supposed to come back on.
Lately, I have been doing this, but while the flashing light shows steady, the monitor tells me that the pc is entering the power saving mode, and the monitor shuts down.
The cpu appears to be on, but no picture on the monitor. (monitor will not come on...it shuts down and I have the monitor set to NEVER go on standby)
When I unplg the cpu, and reboot, everything is fine.
Can you help?
What is going on???
Lenore

Check the BIOS's Power-saving configuration settings [Power Management Setup Menu?] in the BIOS Setup; it may be these are kicking in before the Windows settings [make sure the Windows settings kick in first or switch off the BIOS settings].
