    big blue screen

    i got my old pc parts and put them alltogether they are

    AMD 2200+ xp
    abit NF7
    512mb ddr400
    ATI 128mb 9500 agp (i think)

    when i start it up on the first screen it takes ages saying "detecting IDE drives" once it finds them it says your "cpu is unworkable or has been changed go to soft menu and config" i do this and find it then i restart and it does the same again so in the ned i just press F1 to continue when it eventually gets past that screen the windows install thing (the black and blue one its a formated HD) loads and after about 2 mins a big blue screen comes up saying error with lots of writing

    GPU: HD 5870 (I have two but only got one in at the moment)
    PSU: 1000w Corsair
    Ram: 4GB Corsair dominator DDR2 1066Mhz
    Soundcard: Asus Xonar D2
    Monitor: Samsumg 226BW 22" and secondary 17" LCD
    Speakers: logitech Z5400
    Case: Silverstone Tj07


    Water cooling:
    Loop 1: Mobo NB & Mofset with Zalman resorator
    Loop 2: CPU (Ek supreme) with MCP 355 XSPC acrylic top 360 & 240 mm rad

    I would start with running diagnostics on the HDD. If all is good then make sure your Bios settings are right. You might want to just go back to the default settings and go from there.

    What OS are you trying to install?

    Start by clearing the CMOS, then try running the HD diagnostics as suggested. Also, check your Windows install CD for scratches. Do you get any errors when the files are being copied?

    Can you please post the exact error you are receiving when attempting to boot?
