    uata notebook hard drives

    Hello everyone, I'm a newbie here.
    I have a concern for my laptop hard drive.
    its uata, 5400rpm gateway laptop and I was wondering which would be a better upgrade option? SATA or PATA? I know this is a silly question, but I was wondering because I'm not pretty sure of which type of drive to use?

    any suggestions?

    Welcome to the Pc Guide forums.

    SATA and IDE/PATA are two different interfaces.You need to find out which one your laptop uses and buy the correct one.
