    Angry WideScreen resolution problem

    Hi all,

One of my PC has this onboard graphics adapter --> Via/S3G UniChrome IGP
The Mobo Chipset is MSI KM400.

It is unbelievably surprising for me that it does not seem to support a 1440 x 900 resolution, which is the native resolution for my 17" WS LCD monitor. Resultantly, text reading has become miserable.

I tried to find its drivers and got an update dating December 2004. I hadn't updated its drivers since Oct 2004 (the time when i bought it); So i updated the VGA drivers, but no success.

    Help needed.
    Thanks.

You need to update/install the screen inf/drivers
That will tell the video card what resolution to use

In the end a 2004 integrated video card may NOT support wide screen at all

it may be time to think about installing a new video card
It will speed things up a lot

This looks like where you'd get the latest and greatest driver updates...however, I'm with Rick, I don't know that your integrated card carries the support necessary to handle widescreen...
