    Formatting Issues

    Greetings !

I have a desktop running XP that I want to format and do a complete reinstall of the OS. I have the disk the problem is I can't boot from the disk when I get the "hit any key to boot from disk" prompt because my USB keyboard won't power up till the XP logo screen is gone...I can't even get into bios because the keyboard isn't recognized till its too late.

Note: I've tried an adapter USB/PS2 to see if the keyboard would be recognized but no luck there either.

looks like you need a true PS/2 keyboard...

Specs on your machine. If it is having problems recognizing a USB keyboard, it may be old enough that even resetting the BIOS won't get you anywhere.
