My first dual monitor setup. Help please!

    Hi there!

Ok so I'm looking to do my first dual monitor setup, and I have some questions.

I've been looking at DualHead2Go and TripleHead2Go GXMs and have looked at some of the requirements and wondered which one to get because one supports analog input, and one supports digital input. I'm using a Radeon 4890 GPU and my monitor is a LG 22" WS.

When I turn on my monitor, it says 'Analog' at the top right corner. Do I buy the analog model, or can I somehow switch to Digital input on my monitor (which I've been looking into, but can't find the setting)? Is there a big advantage to having digital/analog over one another? I basically would just like to know which version to buy (analog or digital).

I really need assistance here, some quick answers would be great and I would like to get the setup done this week! Thanks!

edit - I have THIS piece of equipment, which I understand goes into the DVI-D slot in the back of my monitor: http://www.tvcables.co.uk/cgi-bin/tv...I-Adapter.html

. . . however, this piece does not match the analog port on the cable for the monitor. Is there an adaptor? I can't find one here. . .

Sorry to double post, but the editing function locks after a while.

Ok so I've done more reading, and from what I can understand, I need to do the following:

Buy a DVI-D male to DVI-D male cable and connect them to the DVI-I female ports on my video card to enable digital signals on my monitor?

as long as you use a dvi cable ....both out from the GPU and into the DVI on the monitor...you should be digital....make sure that you load the digital drivers too as they are not the same

Ok, wonderful. I didn't think it would be this easy but apparently I was grossly mistaken.

    Thanks for the response, friend.
