    Post mouse

When going from topic to topic or to different websites, my mouse will quit working. I can click on anything and nothing happens. This happens pretty frequently. I can right click and open new window and most of the time it will work with the new window. Is this a problem with the mouse or something else? Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Question

    Welcome allenvideo

Does the malfunctioning of the mouse happened just in Internet Explorer, or does this happen in Windows also? How long since u bought ur mouse?

If this happen in Windows also, i think changing a new mouse might be able to solve the problem, if the problem continues (with the new mouse installed), then i guess something is wrong with the Internet Explorer program, but pls gave a clearer description of ur problem

I think I know what you're talking about, allenvideo. You click on links and it's like they're dead - nothing happens, even after refreshing the page. Up to that point, everything has been working fine. Mine does the same thing, usually in Netscape Communicator 4.6 but sometimes in IE 5.0. I've swapped at least 3 known working mice on my system and it still happens, so I've come to the conclusion it's a browser or dialup connection problem. I do what you do - close the browser and open it again, then all is well. If you use IE 5, you might try running the IE repair tool from Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, select IE and click Add/Remove button, then Repair Internet Explorer. The repair tool won't work on my PC, but maybe you'll have better luck.

If you ever figure out what's causing it, please let me know. It's not a big issue, but I hate it when I can't figure out why something doesn't work or how to fix it!

    Hi Kim,

You described the problem better than I did, but my mouse problem is as you described. I am currently using Netscape 4.75 but was having same problems with earlier Netscape. May someone will let us know what causes this problem. I too have tried using a different mouse. Sometimes I can go for several days without this problem and sometimes it will do it several times a day.

    gidyeo,

Thanks for responding. I have never had the problems just using Windows. It is only when I am online.

Yep, ditto to everything you said! We have the exact same problem in every way. We'll keep our fingers crossed and maybe someone will find an answer for us...
