If you have a reset button to force a hot restart of the system then does that option restart the system and monitor normally?
Also - if you shut down and restart as a combined manoeuvre does that also put the monitor to sleep?
Hi, I have a I5 650 CPU with a Intel Hunter Cove motherboard. Every time I put the computer on, the tower will kick into power but the monitor goes into sleep mode. I have to take the jumper on the motherboard and reset it and then it comes on. Has anyone got a idea why this is happening. Please help, thanks in advance.![]()

What happens is i put the computer off, reset the jumper. Il power on the computer, it goes to bios. I put the computer off, reset the jumper to its original place. Normaly when i power on the screen comes to life. Not allways thou.
Wen i shut down and restart as a combined manuvre, yes it goes into sleep mode
Suggest that you try the following: (a) Replace the CMOS battery and (b) go into the BIOS and select to use FailSafe Defaults or similar.
