    Practice PC # 5

While waiting for replies to my Practice PC # 4 thread, this is the second PC I checked that's up in my office - Practice PC # 5.

I don't recall if this system booted up or not, there may have been an error message (no OS or something like this) so I went into the BIOS to select the boot sequence prior to installing XP on it, but the BIOS settings were locked by the previous owner's password. I tried to clear the BIOS password as indicated by this photo:

but how do I go about clearing this password??

P.S. I have no way of knowing the old password.

    Thanks in advance!

Open it up with the tabs on the top and bottom of the tower. It opens like a door. There should be a jumper setting on the board to reset BIOS.

This is not the CMOS jumper, is it? If it is, isn't it near (or next to) the CMOS battery?

I believe so... it would help if you could tell us what kind of Optiplex that is.
