Did you Burn the ISO file to disk or did you just copy it?? You will need a program like xp-iso burner to burn the image to be bootable
Hi there, I'm fairly new to all this, so please don't mock me if this is a really simple question
I am using a Mac, and trying to install Damn Small Linux, but when I do I get this ...
(Here is a screenshot of the download of the OS, and one of what happens when I open it)
I have no idea what I do to continue installing this, so any help would be very much appreciated
Thanks,
Andrew.

1. Working in Puppy_Linux = Wary-5.3:
(a) Downloaded dsl-3.4.11.iso
md5sum value given..........= f9868615bfd9147c2961474aefd2efc9 dsl-3.4.11.iso
md5sum calculated value = f9868615bfd9147c2961474aefd2efc9 dsl-3.4.11.iso
They match, herefore download is good.![]()
(b) Mounted the ISO and took a look at the contents. [See screenshots below]
(c) Now burning the ISO image to a blanked CD-RW [using burniso2cd].
Burn complete, and verified as good.
(d) Is this a "live" CD, or mMUST it be installed?
Looks like a live CD to me.
I'll go boot it, see what happens, and get back ASAP.
I'm back...
1. It booted just fine.![]()
2. Got to the desktop OK.![]()
3. Looked good, and seemed to be working OK.![]()
4. I think I'll keep this CD for a while, and explore the DSL OS environment.![]()
1. Posting this from dsl->Firefox version 1.0.6.
Having difficulty; Firefox is filling the screen even though not maximized, and there's no controls at top-right to close the window.
Minimize doesn't work!
I'd like to minimize, study dsl, and report back, but cannot.
To close Firefox I'm forced to use view->Full_Screen, which provides controls that I can use to close Firefox, or else use File->Quit.
2. It is indeed a "live" CD.
When the user 1st gets to the desktop, a window is open with notes that explain how to do various things, like installing to this-or-that storage medium.

Looks like you can mount it on to your Hdd. It should run within windows not sure about a mac but it should
