Pakard Bell Device Error

a freind recently bought a used Pakard Bell Pulsar C300 which he gave me to format not realising pakard bells have there own way of formatting i used the fdisk then format c:/ method which worked at first then started to have conflicts then i found out about the pakard bell way to format so i reformatted the pakard bell way every thing was going well until i inserted the second master cd then near the end of loading i keep getting this error
DEVICE ERROR CODE:7696
DOS ERROR CODE:11
READ FAULT
and it has got me completly baffled so if you can point me in the right direction i would be eternell grateful

Don't have a clue, but this site is the only place on the net I can find pertaining to Packard Bell, since they went out of business a few years ago.

Hope you can get some help there. Sounds like a problem reading the CD ROM, but I have no idea what the specific error message may indicate. Could be running out of conventional memory, unable to read from the drive, not enough drive space, etc.
