    Question Lost my C drive

Shut down my system normally. When I went to start up I had no C drive.
Ran fdisk and it says that the drive is there but it is a non dos partition. I know that if I fdisk it and create a primary dos partition I can get my drive back but I lose all the data. Is there anyway to get the drive operating w/o fdisk & format? Also, why did it happen?

Try fdisk_/mbr using a space in place of the underscore used here, which will rewrite the Master Boot Record, and try booting to an emergency rescue disk you hopefully made for your virus scanner. If a virus caused it, that may find it.

Why do I drive way out here to see the wildlife when all the animals live in town?

Thanks for the help. It worked. Sorry I haven't answered sooner but I got involved with another friends computer and even though it took awhile I did get him up and running
