Question Nero/InCD problem

Hi, I have a problem with In CD by Ahead. My old system uses InCD version 1.71 from the Nero 5.0.3.4 version burning rom. My replacement pc has had a new drive fitted because of a fault and the Nero installed (Ver 5.5.3.2) and InCD (Ver2.27) initially did not recognise it. I have down loaded the latest 5.5 drivers for it now but then it told me that that wasn't allowed. Consequently I have deleted Nero and downloaded a trial version of Nero 6. The InCD is more what I am interested in though, because I have files backed up on CDRW (using the early version from my old pc) which I want to restore. However the InCD icon in the bottom right tray is showing a red exclamation mark. What is the problem? Does anyone know? Does InCD update if I buy the Nero 6 software? The Nero website said that the trial software was fully functional but time limited!

Would be glad of any help. Thanks

Package3 HERE would seem to be the InCD update you require.

Is your burner straight RW or is it MRW (Mt Rainier)?; if the latter and you still have problems accessing your data you could try accessing it with the Easy Write Reader.

Hopefully you uninstalled rather than deleted the old version of Nero.

Ok, that didn't do the trick but I found out why. For some reason my pc is not seeing what is on any cd rom. Initially I thought it was just InCD but it is everything on both drives. They are mounted in device Manager and show up sometimes in My computer but if I click on one it shows nothing on the disc. I have removed both roms rebooted and shutdown again to clean up, then reinstalled them, still no joy. In desperation I have now put my CD Rom from my old pc in to check, once again, the device manager sees it but still no data??????????? I'm baffled, it must be something simple in XP that I am not familiar with!?

Yes I have read that now and have tried everything mentioned already. I have actually completely uninstalled Nero. Do my CD Roms need wnaspi32.dll to function without Nero? Because it is not present when I searched for it.

I'm running 5.5 and there is a copy of that file in the ProgramFiles/Ahead/Nero/ directory. There are four versions of the file on the Nero CD and the one on the HDD is the same one that is in the Nero/NERO55/Nero Directory. Don't know if that helps. All I know is I'm not in a rush to try out Nero6!!

Hi I have had more problems and it isn'tjust with InCD, my CD drives just aren't reading reliably. I looked up MS update and got this, I think this could be my problem http://support.microsoft.com/default...&Product=winxp
