Question?

This is most likely the wrong place but I'm stumped where to put it.

Is there any way to subscribe to a thread (get alerts via e-mail) without actually participating in the thread?

I will often use this feature if a topic comes up that I'm "clueless" about yet want to follow the topic and hopefully learn for the discussion. The subscribe feature notifies you of responses to the thread just as if you'd entered into the actual discussion.

It is a handy feature...
